Bringing the moon into the classroom

Odysseus and his army travelled by moonlight to another island.

Willow class wrote some poems about the moon using metaphors and similes.

They then chose their favourite line and put these together to make a class poem.

The moon is white, shiny and spins in the dark

The moon is a lonely noodle spinning in the sky

The moon is a ghost lighting up the dark

The moon is a lonely skateboard zooming across the light

The moon is a giant speck of sand in heaven

The moon is a bumpy paper plate that reflects space

The moon is a shiny eyebrow spinning in space

The moon is a golden wish lighting up the dark

The moon is a golden spoon reflecting in the sky

The moon is a bumpy sheriff’s badge drifting in the sky

The moon is a golden medal that lights the night

The moon is a shiny piece of chewing gum lighting up the night

The moon is white jewellery hurtling in the black air

The moon is a bright hairband that reflects in the dark

The moon is a mysterious snowdrop swimming in the ark sea

The moon is a bumpy badge orbiting in the dark

The moon is a silver Malteser spinning in the dark

The moon is a bright mask spinning in the galaxy

The moon is a shiny snowball floating in the galaxy

The moon is a shiny boomerang in the sky

The moon is a giant cornflake orbiting the earth

The moon is a round pipe hanging in the dark

The moon is a crescent like a tooth that reflects in space

The moon is a lonely banana hanging in the galaxy

The moon is a shiny eyeball in the night

The moon is a lonely cornflake floating in the darkness

The moon is a golden battery spinning in the galaxy

The moon is a silver ghost floating in the sky
